Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 is Science Fiction. Ray Bradbury was a massive contributor to the field of Science Fiction, but he also wrote other things.

Although it does have some futuristic elements about itself, Something Wicked This Way Comes is generally classified as a type of fantasy.

Science Fiction is a type of Fantasy, but here’s the catch — not all fantasy is science fiction.

Harry Potter is fantasy, but it is not Science Fiction. Harry Potter is about magic and not about a futuristic society.

Ursula LeGuin was a very prolific Science Fiction Writer. She wrote the Wizard of Earthsea

But she also wrote other things i.e. our next story The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas. While this story does not have any elements of magic, fantasy, or science fiction, it is definitely about an alternative community.

Assignment 1: Read The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas and WRITE your answers to the questions at the end of the story. This is due at the beginning of Class 8, which is September 12.
